McGill's supports singing primary children with free transport

McGill’s, offered their support over the festive period to the choir children of Todholm Primary, as they sang Christmas carols at Intu Braehead to raise money for CLIC Sargent.

We donated a bus and driver for the day to transport the children to and from the venue, supporting Todholm Primary’s festive fundraising. The kind choir gave their time by volunteering to sing and raise money for the charity, which supports children affected by cancer.

Alan McDowell of McGill’s Inchinnan depot drove the choir to Intu Braehead and picked them up again for the return journey back to Paisley. He said: "The kids had a great afternoon and treated me to some Christmas songs on the bus. I think it’s great they chose to raise money in such a jolly way, and was delighted McGill’s was able to support the children in doing so.”

Katie Grier, Fundraising Manager at CLIC Sargent, said: "It was absolutely fantastic that McGill’s stepped in and saved the day to allow our festive fundraising to go ahead. Todholm Primary has been fundraising for CLIC Sargent throughout 2015 and finished off the year by Carol singing at Intu Braehead, but transport posed a problem. McGill’s, at such a busy time of year, volunteered a driver and complimentary bus to get the children and teachers along to the venue, to help raise vital funds for the charity. It was a wonderful gesture and also ties in with the support McGill’s has offered CLIC Sargent throughout 2015.

"CLIC Sargent relies on the generosity of the community to be able to provide fundamental services to children and young people with cancer across Scotland.”
